In 50 years of cello playing I always seem to come back to Jargar A. The Superior version is the best A string around.

To me, the Jargar sound and feel is what I need from an A string. Specifically, the openness of the sound and clarity, especially up high, is reassuring. Now that the production of these strings is consistent, I will always keep a couple on hand and change them before a big performance because I know what I am getting every time.
