looks good on paper ... feels like thin grade sandpaper under the fingers during shift

This is the first string I ever tried, in my entire life as a violinist which has a rough texture. Every other string is smooth to the touch ... easy to "travel" on. This one feels like finely graded sandpaper. I didn't keep it on long because I was concerned about this texture and its effect on bow hair. It was a complete disappointment and a waste of money. No more Kaplan for me!
