ok, didn't suit me

very lightweight, but not enough flexibility for a large viola to be comfortable in the shoulder

Never falls off!

I experienced years of shoulder rests moving slightly or more than slightly while playing, occasionally to the point of becoming totally dislodged and, if that happened in a concert, needing to carry on playing somewhat terrified and gripping the viola tightly, hoping the shoulder rest wouldn't fall to the floor -- nor the viola! Certainly rather distracting and not conducive to focussing on the music. Since having the Pedi, which is at least 4 years now, that concern has melted away, as it has never budged once! The feet must be made of some pretty amazing compound to stay so securely on the instrument and I am 100% delighted to have discovered this shoulder rest.

Pedi viola shoulder rest

I have a drawer full of shoulder rest that would only stay on my instrument with rubber bands. The Pedi is the first that absolutely stays on with hours of practice. I'm so totally shocked that for the first time ever I now have a great shoulder rest and it's also very light. I've said it all - you need to try one you'll love it instantly.

worth the extra $$

I was a long-time user of another, similarly shaped, much lower priced shoulder rest, but developed some upper back/neck pain and started looking into other options. It seems that for my particular set up this shoulder rest works better -- and I love that the feet don't seem to move (or to damage the instrument). Exceptionally lightweight, also. I would not have expected 1 oz to make such a difference, but the sound is much more focused and immediate. I agree with the previous reviewer that the instrument is more responsive than I have felt with other shoulder rests.
