Having security cables is a must have! Even before I had my Gewa case, which comes with cables, straps would always come off my other cases presenting a risk to my violin. My original cables and these ones I have bought as extras have prevented my case from falling down preventing risk to my instrument. I like this product in particular because its ease of use and the black, thick tightening grip is easy to spot. Well worth it to protect your investment!

Yes, I was one of those persons whose strap let go. I was carrying a montagnana pattern cello in a Bobelock oversize case ( read: pretty heavy) and the cello case, released at the shoulder, went headfirst onto a wooden floor with an awful crack. I was able to grab the strap and stop some of the fall. Fortunately nothing happened. I am now NEVER without safety straps on any case I own. A lot more peace of mind, for sure. These have a good diameter, so they’ll fit on almost any setup. I recommend them...
