Viowiess Prizma Violin Mutes are lighter, more flexible versions of the 3D sound Color mutes. 3D printing using 14 base colors creates a unique, almost holographic look; no two mutes are the same. Color varies quite a bit, we pick for you. Please contact us if you are particular about hue!

- Viol: designed to produce a light, playful mezzo piano; this mute is an updated model inspired by the traditional 1-hole rubber mute
- Dual Tone: reviving a popular shape from earlier centuries when mutes were crafted from bone, leather or metal, this model can be placed on top of the bridge for a pianissimo that filters out higher & lower overtones while preserving mid-range overtones, or positioned right against the bridge for mezzo piano.
- Square: this model can be used as either a slide mute or disc mute, allowing the mute to create orchestral mezzo piano and pianissimo effects.
- Disc: based on the popular 2-hole rubber mute, the Prizma offers updated design & materials for improved sound while playing moderate pianissimo without buzzing or rattling.

So glad that Concord Music carries the best mutes in creation! I've used them since their inception, my favorite one being the Viol. Each model produces a particular tonal quality, so fun to use.

I have a set of all 4 of these mutes. Maybe my imagination but these do seem to let the violin produce a more full, rich muted sound that projects well. Makes the rubber “Tourte” mute sound like a dull thud by comparison. My students are also intrigued by the colors.
